Position Overview

The lawn maintenance crew member is responsible for performing routine landscaping and groundskeeping tasks to maintain clean, healthy, and visually appealing outdoor spaces. Duties include mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and general upkeep of lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on every job site.

Who to Report To

Qualifications

  • Clean criminal background
  • Minimum one year of experience in the landscape/construction industry
  • Legal documentation to verify employment eligibility
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
  • Reliable transportation to/from work
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Flexible working hours, including occasional weekend work
  • Physically able to handle the workload in all types of weather and have a full range of mobility in the upper and lower body (able to lift heavy without needing assistance – at least 50 lbs)
  • Good communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Understands and follows company policies and procedures
  • Reports to work on time in a clean, appropriate uniform and steel toe boots
  • Follows instructions given by the lawn maintenance crew lead
  • Collaborates with team members to meet timelines and quality standards
  • Always maintains a clean and organized worksite and crew truck
  • Communicates any issues, unsafe conditions, or improvement opportunities to the crew lead
  • Assist with loading/unloading trucks and trailers in the AM and PM
  • Learns and performs lawn maintenance tasks, including cutting grass, trimming edges, removing debris, blowing trimmings, landscape bed maintenance and other landscape services.
  • Operate power equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, and chain saws
  • Conducts daily inspections and basic maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Communicates with clients in a polite and professional manner

Position Overview

  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily crew operations to ensure and maintain a sufficient utilization and efficiency rate
  • Clock in/clock out crew members
  • Lead and participate in lawn care tasks: mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and clean-up, landscape bed maintenance, and other landscape services
  • Operate and maintain power equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other tools
  • Ensure proper loading/unloading of trucks and trailers
  • Train and mentor crew members to meet safety and quality standards

Position Overview

As a design & build/enhancements crew lead, you will oversee and work alongside a crew of 2 to 4 members to execute landscape construction projects with precision and efficiency. This role requires a positive, go-getter attitude, strong leadership skills, and the ability to direct and train team members while maintaining a clean, safe, and professional job site. A design & build/enhancements crew lead must be familiar with and in process of learning all aspects of landscape construction.

Qualifications

  • Valid chauffeur’s license with a clean driving record
  • Have a clean criminal record
  • 2+ years of experience in landscaping (softscaping/hardscaping – brick paving experience) or construction (leadership experience preferred)
  • ICPI – Concrete Paver Installer Certificate/ Masonry experience
  • Must be able to train crew members
  • Legal documentation to verify employment eligibility
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing (Bilingual preferred English/Spanish)
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of landscape design/build processes and equipment operation
  • Able to read and follow design plans and construction drawings
  • Physically able to handle the workload in all types of weather and have a full range of mobility in the upper and lower body (able to lift heavy without needing assistance – at least 50 lbs)

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and train crew members to complete landscape projects on schedule and within quality standards
  • Read and interpret design plans, layouts, and construction details
  • Assign daily tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor progress
  • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials
  • Maintain a clean and safe worksite, always enforcing safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, designers, and clients when needed
  • Must be able to communicate with clients professionally and address concerns and/or questions on site
  • Perform hands-on work, including hardscaping, planting, grading, and other construction tasks
  • Assists in keeping jobs on schedule and on budget
